Oracle Releases Java 24... 'Maximizing Developer Productivity'

Oracle announced on the 19th that it has released the latest version of Java, Java 24, the world's No. 1 programming language and development platform.

Java 24 (Oracle JDK 24) provides thousands of improvements to help developers maximize their productivity and drive innovation. Platform performance, stability, and security improvements help accelerate business growth for corporate organizations.



Oracle revealed more details about the latest Java 24 release at JavaOne 2025, which will be held in Redwood Shores, California, USA from the 18th to the 20th (local time).



George Saab, senior vice president of Oracle Java Platform Division and chairman of the OpenJDK board of directors, said, "For the past 30 years, Java has provided developers with a comprehensive platform to build and deploy applications covering a wide range of use cases. With more than 20 new features covering all elements of Java, including new AI and quantum-resistant cryptography features, the Java 24 release provides developers with the tools they need to build innovative AI-based applications."



Java 24 provides improvements in the following areas: △language features △libraries △security libraries △tools △performance and runtime updates △source code. It introduces the latest security features and gradually removes and deprecates unsafe features. Java



24 provides Oracle Java SE, Oracle Gradle VM, and Java SE Subscription Enterprise Performance Pack through OCI at no additional cost.
