The age of space exploration is unfolding worldwide. Numerous space companies are emerging and finding their own strategies to enter space.

Boryeong is making full-fledged advances into the space healthcare sector. It is judged that space, which is currently centered on artificial satellites and launch vehicles, will expand into the health sector in the future. It is believed that experiments that are impossible on the ground will be possible in space.

An opportunity has been prepared to gauge Boryeong's strategy for entering the 'space healthcare' sector. The Korea Aerospace Industry Promotion Association (Chairman Kang Gu-young, Aerospace Association) held the '9th Aerospace Leaders Breakfast Forum' at the Seoul Club Hall of the Korea Press Center on the 26th.

Boryeong CEO Kim Jeong-gyun gave a special lecture. In a special lecture on the topic of "Multi-planetary Human Life Enabler," CEO Kim said, "Most people still think of 'space' as nothing more than satellites and launch vehicles, but there are endless things that humans can do in space," and "It is inevitable to utilize space to solve human health problems and problems in space."

CEO Kim predicted, "With the advancement of technology and the participation of private companies, more people will head to space more frequently, further, and for longer periods of time." Boryeong declared that its goal is to ensure that people who go to space can do so safely and healthily, and to develop technologies that could not be developed on Earth by utilizing the space environment to solve essential problems.

The core strategies promoted by Borum are: △Humans In Space (promoting investment and challenge programs to create a space medicine research ecosystem and secure technology), △Life Science Infrastructure (securing infrastructure for space healthcare research and strengthening global cooperation), and △Humans In Space Youth (discovering creative ideas and supporting experiments for students, the future generation).

Borum is paying attention to the fact that the period of time humans will stay in space is getting longer and the possibility of more diverse people staying in space is increasing. It has begun pioneering the space healthcare field since 2022. It is discovering and fostering startups related to space healthcare through the 'Care In Space (CIS) Challenge'.

From 2023, it will launch the 'Humans In Space (HIS) Program' in cooperation with global partners to support and seek solutions for human activities in space.

CEO Kim emphasized that cooperation between the private sector and the government is essential for the Republic of Korea to leap forward as a space powerhouse.

He emphasized, "Just as the Age of Exploration that began in Portugal expanded the world view of mankind, now we must look not at the world map but at space," and "South Korea must also strategically cooperate with the private sector and the government to strengthen its leading role in the space healthcare industry that we can excel in." He continued,

"Boryeong will provide South Korea with an opportunity to establish itself as a global center of space life science research by building a 'Life Science Infrastructure' that connects the ground and space."

Boryeong has made strategic investments in Axiom Space, which is developing a private space station to replace the International Space Station (ISS), and Intuitive Machines, the first private company to successfully land on the moon.

It has also been laying the foundation for exploring new business opportunities in space, such as by launching the joint venture Braxspace.
